My original query *was if YouTube could be or will ever be integrated into the sonos app /controller?* Ah, that is a problem. I'm not sure it could be, at least not without a substantial re architecture change to the controller app. Windows command sleep is what for mac to ip. It would have to somehow tap into the OS sound drivers (or perhaps even act as a sound driver itself) which would require a much deeper access than a simple application. Mac games free download full version. I suspect it would need a separate piece of driver software, but I don't know enough about Windows or Mac audio to know how feasible this is. Cheers, Keith. ![]() Im not sure if this is possible or how it would work, but being able to stream the audio from a YouTube video over your sonos set up would be immense! There's heaps of new music, rare tracks and covers on YouTube, that you just can't find on spotify/last.fm. *All of which are free to access. Friz_1986 wrote: My original query *was if YouTube could be or will ever be integrated into the sonos app /controller?* We can't answer the 'will ever be' part, as none of us are on the development team, and Sonos doesn't disclose their development plans. I'm going to skip the 'could be' part too, because I think the more informative question is 'why would they?' There's already Line-In capability in all players except the Play:3 for the few that just have to have the (often crappy) YouTube audio. From a practical standpoint, I just don't see it happening. There's so many suggestions in the Sound Ideas sub-forum for improvements that would improve the system for everyone that by the time they got to this idea, we'd all be dead. Is this something that's been asked before or been attempted? Yes, I've been finding more and more rare LPs of recordings from Eastern Europe and Russia that have been put up on YouTube by diligent and generous collectors. Streaming anything is pretty sucky where I live so I generally just download the audio stream using JDownloader and listen off-line. Planning is distributed across the available coordinator nodes. Setup You can set up the JDBC driver in the following manner: • Connect directly to the Dremio server • Connect to the Dremio server via Zookeeper Connecting direct to server The following configuration establishes a direct connection to a Dremio coordinator node. Jdbc:dremio:direct=: 31010[;schema=] Connecting to ZooKeeper The following configuration established a distributed connection to Dremio coordinator nodes through a Zookeeper quorum. The main JAR Class is com.dremio.jdbc.Driver. Planning is done on the specified node. That's a somewhat short-sighted uninformed viewpoint. A lot of us like listening to (and watching) live music, and there is a ton of it available on YouTube, especially recent performances of lesser known bands. It probably wouldn't be too hard to provide a Music Service for Youtube. NoBoB wrote: You'd have to take that up with YouTube. Right now, there's no 'YouTube Music Service' for Sonos to access, so Sonos would have to design some way for you to browse or search YouTube with your Sonos Controller, and keep up with YouTube as it changes interfaces and whatnot. That got me thinking that surely somebody's cobbled something together to stream music from Youtube as if it were Spotify etc. And with some simple googling I found a few like: 1. Streamdrag which has been around since 2008 ( IP-block restrictions mean I can't test this one) Now this doesn't give you a direct Sonos solution, but at least with the line-in you can have radio-like playlists build on Youtube. And it's probably not too hard for Sonos to add one of these as a service. Hello all, just thought I'd throw in my 2pence. I'm not really sure why Sonos cant have the option on the Android or iPhone/pod apps that allows the audio being played on the device to be sent to the Sonos system. I would like this to happen so I can easily get 8tracks app playing through my phone and onto Sonos. This method would also work for the youtube app. But there is a complicated (actually rather easy to do) work-around if you're looking at youtube/8tracks etc from the computer. You can stream your computer audio through the 'Jamcast' server, which can be picked up by Sonos as a radio station. There is a delay of about 5 seconds so you cant watch and listen, but if its the music you're interested in then it works just fine. I would therefore recommend using the suggestion made by hitmouse and use cantio in conjunction with Jamcast. Other than the line-in suggestion already made, I'm not sure of a way of getting the audio off a phone and onto Sonos.
